>>สำหรับคนที่ยังไม่รู้จักซีรี่ส์เรื่องนี้ เร่เข้ามาฟังทางนี้สิจะเล่าให้ฟัง ซีรี่ส์เรื่องนี้เป็นซีรี่ส์ที่ดังมากในอังกฤษ ได้รับรางวัลมากมายรวมถึง Golden Globe ของเมกาด้วยนะ The Office ออกอากาศครั้งแรกในปี 2002 ซึ่งเป็นเรื่องของเจ้านายนิสัยอุบาทว์อย่าง David Brent และพนักงานในออฟฟิศที่ทำงานเป็นรูทีนแล้วก็แบ่บน่าเบื่อมากๆ (ใครที่ทำงานออฟฟิศอยู่ตอนนี้คงนึกออกนะ) ไม่มีอะไรน่าตื่นเต้น วันๆ มาทำงานเพื่อให้วันนึงหมดไปแค่นั้น
บางคนอาจจะนึกเปรี้ยวเอ่ยถามขึ้นมาว่า
อ้าว แล้วมันน่าสนใจตรงไหนล่ะคะ แหม ก็เพราะความที่มันเป็นซีรี่ส์ของอังกฤษสิ ความขำของมันจึงพิเศษกว่าของเจ้าอื่น เพราะว่ามุขเค้าแนบเนียนมากๆ คือไม่ตลกโปฮาเหมือนเรื่องอื่น ถึงเรื่องนี้เป็นคอมเมดี้แต่ไม่มีเสียงหัวเราะแบบในเรื่อง Friends หรือพวก sit-com เมนสตรีมทั่วไปมากวนใจ ดังนั้นเวลาจะขำจะหัวเราะก็สามารถทำได้เลยไม่ต้องรอให้มีหน้าม้ามาหัวเราะนำให้ฟังก่อน แล้วความขำมันก็เป็นแบบ black comedy อะ คือบางทีดูๆ ไปมันก็ขำไม่ออก แล้วทุกๆ รูปแบบของอารมณ์ขันแบบอังกฤษมีหมดเลยในเรื่องนี้ ส่วนจะมีอะไรบ้างนั้น มองลงไปตรงภาษาอังกฤษแล้วอ่านเอาเองแล้วกัน

>>Now, for those of u who have no idea what I'm on about, The Office is a very sucessful British mock-cumentary series on BBC which first aired in 2002 (correct me if I'm wrong) and it won so many awards . The Office follows days in the life of David Brent, the boss from hell (and yet I like him). There're 3 series to it, 1 and 2 and then the X'mas Specials. The series is mainly about routine activities and banal lives of the people who work in the office. "So, what's so interesting about that then?" u may ask. Well, The Office is hilarious in a rather odd way. There's no canned laughter like Friends or other sit-com series that tell u when to laugh, so the tone of its humour tends to be quite dark. All aspects of English humour; self-deprecation, irony, understatement, self-mockery and embarrassment can be found in The Office as the series is permeated with them.

>>คำถามต่อมาคือ อ้าว ถ้ามันเป็นคอมเมดี้แล้วจะร้องไห้หาหม่าม้าทำไมล่ะ คือเรื่องนี้อะมันแอบมีเรื่องรักๆ ใคร่ๆ แอบปนอยู่ด้วยจางๆ ด้วยไง ตัวละครชื่อ Tim (ขวัญใจชั้นเอง) กับ Dawn เค้ารักกันไง แต่ทีนี้ฝ่ายหญิงเกิดไปหมั้นหมายกับอีกคนนึงแล้ว แต่คู่หมั้นคนนี้ก็ไม่ได้เป็นคนดีหรอกเพราะว่าชอบไม่ให้กำลังใจเมียตัวเอง คือ Dawn เค้าอยากเป็นคนวาดภาพประกอบในหนังสือเด็กใช่ม้า แล้วผัวมันก็แบ่บ เออ เลิกเหอะ วาดไปก็ไม่ได้อะไร ไม่ได้เงินมากมาย เพราะเธอก็ไม่ได้วาดเก่งหนักหนา สู้ทำงานในออฟฟิศดีกว่าประมาณนี้ Tim กับ Dawn ทำงานอยู่ด้วยกัน ก็เลยเฟลิตกันตลอด น่ารักดี แล้วตอนท้ายๆ Dawn ต้องย้ายไปอยู่ที่อเมกากับคู่หมั้น Tim ก็แบ่บเออ ปล่อยเค้าไปแล้วตัวเองก็ต้องมูฟออนชะมะ ทีนี้ตอนคริสต์มาส ที่ออฟฟิศเนี่ยเค้าจัดงานเลี้ยงกัน คุณ Dawn ก็กลับมาร่วมงานและก็ได้เจอ Tim ฝ่ายชายก็ให้ของขวัญคริสต์มาสกับ Dawn ก่อนที่ Dawn จะต้องกลับบ้านที่เมกา แล้วตอนที่ทั้งสองคนนี้ยืนอยู่ด้วยกันกำลังจะร่ำลาอะ โอ้โห เป็นอะไรที่แบ่บ อึดอัดมากอะ เคยปะ เวลาต้องลากับคนที่เรารักอะ มันตื้นตันใจ มันไม่มีอะไรจะพูด เพราะพูดแล้วเดี๋ยวก็ร้องไห้ออกมา ต่างคนก็แบ่บเออพยายามทำเป็นร่ำลากันปรกติ แต่ในใจอะไม่อยากไปเลยเชี้ยเอ้ย แล้วตอนต่อไปนี้แหล่ะที่ทำเจ่ร้องไห้เป็นวรรคเป็นเวร คือตอนที่ Dawn เปิดของขวัญในแท็กซี่ แล้วของขวัญแบ่บเป็นชุดสีน้ำสำหรับวาดภาพอะเมิง แล้วก็มีการ์ดแนบมาเขียนว่า "Never give up!" แล้วก็มีรูปการ์ตูนที่ Dawn เคยวาดให้ Tim แปะอยู่ข้างๆ โอ้โห กรูน้ำตาพรูเลยอะ ภาพตัดมาที่งานเลี้ยง หนุ่ม Tim ของเราก็กำลังยืนคุยอยู่กับเพื่อน Dawn เดินเข้ามาในงาน ร้องไห้มาเลย มากอด Tim แล้วเพลง Back For Good ของ Take That ก็ขึ้นมา (แต่ก่อนเฉยๆ กะเพลงนี้มาก ตอนนี้กลายเป็นชอบไปแล้ว) แล้วทั้งสองก็จูบกัน แล้วก็จูงมือกันออกไป กรูก็พรั่งพรูอีกรอบ แล้วจากตอนนั้นจนจบเป็นอะไรที่ดูแล้วมีความสุขมากๆ เลยแบ่บว่าไม่น่าเชื่อว่าทำไมมันดูแล้วสุขใจ อิ่มเอมได้ขนาดนี้ กลายเป็นรักซีรี่ส์เรื่องนี้ไปเลยอะ

>>Another question has now arisen, "if it's a comedy then why the hell did u cry over it?" Interestingly, there's a love story between Tim and Dawn behind it. As spoiling the storyline of the series isn't part of my intention in writing this, I'm not going to tell u exactly what happens. But anyway, basically they're in love with each other but the problem is Dawn is already engaged to someone else. So the story goes on to the bit where Dawn comes back for Christmas party at the office (where Dawn used to work as receptionist) from the US, where she and her fiance moved to. There's this scene where Tim and Dawn are saying goodbyes to one another. It's obvious neither of them wants to leave but, if u ever to leave someone u love, there's always this awkward, silently suffocating moment where we don't want to say anything, in fear of beaking down, though we have loads to say to them. Tim and Dawn are just standing there, feeling awkward, trying not to make a big deal out of it by making jokes of their parting. The part that got me was when Tim (my fav character) gave Dawn a Christmas present with a card saying "Never give up" (on what, I'll let u find that out urself)and then Take That's Back For Good plays in the background. Spontaneously, tears came trickling down my face. And then the rest of the series was just pure bliss to watch. I was so overwhelmed.

>>สรุปแล้วแนะนำนะเรื่องนี้ ลองไปหามาดูกันนะ อาจจะยังไม่ค่อยเก็ตมุขนักแต่ก็ดูไปเรื่อยๆ ศัพท์แสลง references ต่างๆ ก็จะเป็นอังกิดๆ แต่เรื่องนี้ให้ทุกรสจิงๆ มีทั้งขำ ทั้งร้องไห้ ทั้งสงสารตัวละคร ทั้งทำให้เราได้คิดสารพัด ดูแล้วอิ่มเอมสุดๆ เลยอะ
>>To conclude, I'd recommend this series to anyone who loves a good laugh and craves something a little different. The Office will make u think, realise, laugh, feel embarrassed, sympathise with certain characters and cry with overwhelming joy. I'm not exaggerating in the slightest. Watch it, u won't regret it.
